The Chinese exemption exam is the same as the Chinese Placement Test. If you place at the 2B level or above, you will need to attend the oral interview and then you will be exempt from the Category VI Language Other than English breadth requirement. The highest proficiency level attainable at UCI by taking the Chinese exam is 3C.
